Find Opponents!

For most wargamers, some of the best fun is time spent with others bent over a game for hours on end and getting some good game play in. And as well all know, that is often hard to do. Between people's busy schedules and distances separating gaming partners the time spent doing this is limited. That is why we have compiled this page. To bring you a resource of On-line gaming clubs that support our games. These organizations are groups of people who play our titles either by Play by E-mail (PBEM) or in Real Time over the Internet. Distance is no longer an issue, and in the case of PBEM, neither is scheduling. You can fit a game in at anytime, and most people are flexible. You can play a game completing one turn a week, or one turn a night, it all depends on you and your partner.

Additionally, several of these clubs add a historical context to the gaming experience. They have structures where you are assigned to a unit in a certain army and play against people in opposing armies. For example if you were to join the Napoleonic Wargame Club you could enter Napoleon's legions as a Sous Lt., gain your commission and rise all the way to the rank of Marshall - fighting commanders from the Anglo-Dutch, Prussian, Russian or Austrian empires. This added level of detail enhances the gaming experience and makes you feel more a part of the game. Historical discussions can be had as well as many articles and tutorials shared by other members. If historical "role playing" isn't your thing you can play on a competitive ladder, which is offered by other clubs.

So take a little time and visit some of these sites. You will most likely find a wealth of experiences waiting for you which will add years of enjoyment to every HPS title you own. And if you know of an organization that should be listed here, please let us know.

A good "general forum" with sub-sections for most all of the HPS games is located at The Wargamer. Good mix of people passing through there and discussing the games regularly.
